We are committed to providing the best experience for our online chess community. Although there haven’t been any major updates recently, our team has been diligently working behind the scenes. Often, the most significant work is unseen, focusing on maintaining stability and smooth operation. Over the past months, our development team has resolved around 300 tickets to ensure everything runs seamlessly. We have improved our servers, fixed bugs, made small usability enhancements, and introduced some noteworthy new features.
Team match management
Tornelo might just be the best online chess platform for management of your next Team event. We have significantly improved the team match management for all online and over-the-board tournaments.
The Pairings show you the list of all team pairings, but these can be further expanded to reveal the board pairings. You can use the right-hand-side Arbiter tools Panel to manage the team match…
… just as easily as managing the individual boards.
You can use it to update pairings, enter results (including the special advanced options) and manage online games.
The same panel is avaialble inside the Game as well. Replacing the old tool panel in the chat window and making your management options consistent across all pages and all tournament types.
Don’t forget that your Start lists and Standings also include the Team view! You can use the Players/Teams switcher to view the same tournament details.
Organization verification
Running tournaments on Tornelo starts with creating your own Organization! The best organizers then proceed to apply for verification to unlock all Tornelo features. Don’t worry, it’s FREE!
Some organizers were struggling to apply, so we’ve decided to make this process easier for you! If your Organization is not verfified yet, you will see a notification banner at the top of the page. Don’t hesitate and click the Apply Now button.
Let us a know a little bit about your organization, so we can verify it is real and genuine! Any type of organization or group who likes to play chess is welcome, formal or informal.
We will check your application and you will be good to go running your online chess events more easily in under 72hrs.
This will not only let you use our advanced features such as csv import and export, but also allow you to add extra info about your organizations, so you players can easily contact you. Welcome to Tornelo elite!

We made the Lobby page load both more funcional and more beautiful, improving your online chess experience.
E-BOard Connection
We hope you are enjoying our new Game page! So far we’ve received a very good feedback but we still strive to make it better.
We’ve enabled the e-board connection for Players and Arbiters before the game. This brings a bit more ease and less stress to all our organizers who like running hybrid tournaments with electronic boards.
